Luminous Object - 4 Elements Reimagined

Materials & Sustainability | Fabrication | Design

Objecttive: Design, document, and fabricate a small luminous object, exploring how narrative, form, material, and perceived value interact from concept through production.

About: Inspired by the show Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Northern Lights, this project was designed as a tableside ambient lamp for readers and those sensitive to bright/strong lights. Light exposure through thin veneer sheets allow for the desired affect of gentle effective lighting. The project blends storytelling, craftsmanship, and functional design to create a warm, imaginative object.

Magazine - Adaptation vs Inspiration

Editorial | Typography | Printing

Objective: Design a 4-page magazine considering how text and design conveys meaning; employing text hierarchies as a way to navigate; selecting appropriate typeface pairings; creating effective image and text combinations; and creating visual continuity from page to page.

About: For my magazine design, I displayed the contrast between books and their movie adaptations. I incorporated a modern style while still incorporating the aesthetic that books and libraries have.

Donut Shop - Nosh

Architecture | Interiors | Renderings

Objective: Design the layout of a donut shop formed by intersecting two shipping containers. Create a space-efficient massing model in SketchUp, then produce orthographic drawings in Layout using standard drafting conventions, including callouts, sections, and elevations. Conclude with a physical scale model built using laser cutting and transfer techniques.

About:The design for Nosh focuses on creating a fast and effective space while remaining welcoming. With an efficient and intuitive customer flow in a compact space that can easily reside in city or suburb. Separate entrance and exits guide movement through the donut shop, reducing congestion and improving efficiency and overall customer experience. With a service window by the entrance and connected to the kitchen, customers are able to order online while minimizing congestion inside the store. Multiple windows facing the enterance side of the shop, allows for natural light and a sense of openness within the interior of the donut shop

Candy Packaging Design

Branding | Packaging | Graphics

Objective: Design a brand and packaging to introduce a new line of locally produced organic products, targeted at a young and urban audience..

About: This project combined a specific design style to choose as well as a specific audience target. Using research of popular brads and their packaging and lots of ideation and iterations, I developed a concept of a minimal, bright and eye catching packaging. Through descriptive colors and simple drawings, I wanted to blend nostalgia, fun, and popular styles to create something new that would be able to appeal to the targeted audience as well as other ages

Playhouse Design - The Hive House

Architecture | Concept Development | 3D Modeling

Objective: Through the design of a small playhouse, intergrate learning outcomes that include applying key Design Elements & Priniciples, considerations around the human body in space, presenting and communication 3D ideas, and core software skills

About: The Hive House is designed to allow kids to play around and use the space in whichever way they can imagine. It is inspired by hexagonal shapes that create a hive like shape, allowing them to climb, sit, and play in any other way their imagination leads them. This structure is created by six small hexagon shapes to create one larger one. Then seven larger hexagons creating an up and down elevation stacked structure.
